Department Description:

The Point to Multipoint organization develops point to multipoint RF solutions in both licensed and unlicensed bands. Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations

The Access Point (AP) Principal Software Engineer is responsible for technical leadership and development in the following areas for an 802.11n based MAC, OS & Networking, Security and User Management, and SNMP and UI. He would be responsible for overseeing development engineers and providing technical guidance for these technical areas. He would be able to perform development in these technical areas, too. Responsibilities for leadership include interfacing to the system requirements team, leading development from box requirements through integration testing, and supporting box testing. He also would be able to work with a remote design center developing other parts of the Access Point and supplier(s) providing hardware and software.

Specific Knowledge/Skills

 

 

This position requires prior experience and knowledge in many of the following areas: 802.11n, 802.11AC, OS & Networking, Security and User Management, and SNMP and UI. The candidate does not have to have detailed knowledge in all areas. Past experience in technical leadership of a development team is desired. Good verbal and written skills are required. Configuration management knowledge and the ability to direct this activity is a requirement. Department Description:

The Product Management organization is responsible for defining Cambium’s product strategy and managing the entire life cycle for the company’s products. The organization’s product managers are responsible for defining, prioritizing, planning, driving the execution and creating the vision for their product lines. They work extensively with customers while working cross-functionally with the company in order to successfully prioritize features and develop the products that our customers need. They also provide the company with key consumer insights and trends.

 

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations

  • Responsible for creating product roadmaps and release plans for the assigned product line and working closely with engineering to deliver successful products.
  • Identifies a variety of customer needs across the application environment, drive feature prioritization and define product features and requirements. Understand customer needs and requirements and represent them in MRDs (market requirement document).
  • Develops product plans (including target segment and value proposition) and business cases for assigned product or service.
  • Responsible for identifying market size, preparation of business plans, and assists in pricing recommendations for the defined product and service portfolio.
  • Understands the market and competition for the product set and develop product and competitive positioning.
  • Develops and owns the go-to-market strategy to maximize market share, profitability, revenue retention and growth, and other strategic objectives.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations

Cambium Networks is seeking an experienced and motivated Chief Architect/Engineer and Technical Authority interested in contributing to the success of an exciting and fast-moving company. The successful candidate will have a good appreciation of all aspects of wireless communications systems design, including FPGA, software, RF, digital, and antenna design and will have done detailed design in several of these areas. The candidate will be proficient in writing system level architecture documents and in system level modeling. The candidate should be experienced and interested in the entire system design cycle, from initial concept to final testing. In addition, the candidate should have a proven track record of innovation as demonstrated by leadership in R&D and awarded patents.

The candidate will have demonstrated his/her system design and leadership experience in technically leading several projects to successful completion and by commanding respect from the multidisciplinary engineering team through the display of skill and dedication. The candidate will have experience in working with software and hardware development teams and the ability to negotiate coherent and optimum solutions to system design problems.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the development of a technical roadmap for innovative products and features.
  • Leading the definition of system architecture of next generation wireless products.
  • Researching and designing PHY and MAC subsystems for custom and standards based wireless broadband networks.

Experience Level - 7 - 10 Years Design and implement diagnostic components within an existing software infrastructure. Tasks will include the creation of common, low level routines to access/control hardware devices. Draw wiring diagrams, circuit board assembly diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings used for manufacture, installation, and repair of electronic equipment.

Additional job responsibilities would require the interaction with our local Mechanical Team to design and implement factory test fixtures as well as overseeing the successful transition of Factory Test systems in to a NPI and/or Production manufacturing facility both nationally and internationally. Travel to our manufacturing facilities for local support will also be required.
